Trip to The Chiricahua Desert Museum, Rodeo, NM
Locals Bob and Sheri Ashley are the owners of The Chiricahua Desert Museumin Rodeo, NM. This Museum is NM's premier rattlesnake educational outreach and exhibit.
The Ashley’s maintain the largest and rarest collection of rattlesnakes in the history of the State of New Mexico, encompassing a very diverse group of nearly 100 animals. Bob Ashley, throughout his career has successfully bred and raised countless species of reptiles placing many on display at The Chiricahua Desert Museum. The Museum also maintains a large and unusual art collection and a fantastic gift shop.
The Museum staff can give a lecture on rattlesnakes with emphasis on the local ecology and local species of snakes. Make sure to get a tour of the museum and exhibits; walk through of the outside Wildlife Garden; and stop by the gift shop for a 10% discount on any merchandise purchased at their huge gift shop for styaing at PPR.
