The Gadsden Hotel in Douglas, AZ (50 miles south of PPR and Rodeo, NM) has a colorful past and splendid architecture. The spacious main lobby is majestically set with a solid white Italian marble staircase and four soaring marble columns. Each capital is decorated in 14K gold leaf-worth $20,000 in 1929. 

The Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory (SABO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of the birds of southeastern Arizona, their habitats and the diversity of species that share those habitats through research, monitoring and public education.

Geronimo, was captured not far from this monument along HWY 80 between Rodeo, NM and Douglas, AZ.

The Rodeo Tavern - This little gem has had quite a history, including having a slot machine at one time. Rob Bernard is a gifted carpenter amongst other things and he has done a fabulous job at refurbishing the place. It's the place for gatherings and a friendly atmosphere. Well managed and great food in Rodeo, NM.

All Star Telescope -- helping people discover the wonders of the night sky"

George & Kelly Martin Custom Boot Makers - Animas, NM

Just 25 miles from PPR is the town of Animas an isolated ranching community located in the valley bounded by the Peloncillo Mountains on the west and the Pyramid Mountains and Animas Mountains on the east.  A well kept secret is that in Animas, NM way off the beaten path you will find an award winning Boot Maker, Kelly Martin. 

Gini Galvin Lawson - Artist - Gini comes to the PPR with an artist workshop in June.  The paintings of award-winning artist Gini Lawson have been featured in exhibitions in galleries and cultural centers throughout the United States, including the Coos Art Museum in Coos Bay, Oregon; the Bella Perla Gallery in Portland, Oregon; Gallery RFD in Swainsboro, Georgia; and the Phinney Center Gallery in Seattle.

Portal Peak Lodge is located in Portal, Arizona.  It is at the mouth of Cave Creek Canyon in the Chiricahua Mountains.  The lodge is next to Cave Creek and behind the Portal Store & Cafe.
